Don’t get me wrong I love a designer item every now and then, but I usually limit pricey purchases to classic items or something really one-of-a-kind. For more trendy items, I like to find designer inspired items for less. One big trend in shoes right now is the gold stiletto heel. Designers like Alexander Wang, Gucci, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Jimmy Choo have all been adorning their heels with metallics this season. I recently found a gorgeous Jimmy Choo slingback, but I just couldn’t justify the $725 price tag. Thankfully, I found a very similar style at Zara for $79 dollars! Can you guess which one is the Choo?

Look for Less: Jimmy Choo vs Zara
Gold Clutch another way
You may remember my gold envelope clutch from my Black and White post. When I bought it, I had no idea I would love it so much. It is so versatile and can be dressed up or down. This is a more casual date-night look with my gold clutch.

Yellow Accents
I have always been a fan of using bright accent colors to bring life into a space. Right now, I am particularly fond of vibrant yellows; my living room is gray with yellow and black accents. I absolutely love the design of this New York apartment, owned by Jenna Lyons, the creative genius behind J. Crew. One would expect nothing less from the Soho apartment of someone as iconic and chic as Ms. Lyons. I love that the yellow accents are used sparingly, and that the black, white, and yellow color palette is softened by the addition of a neutral rug in the center of the space, and soft gray walls. Also, the yellow sofa, while very noticeable, is not over-powering. This is the key to incorporating color into a room. Accent pieces are meant to just give a room a little pop; in other words, less is more.

Spring Beauty
There are so many choices when it comes to makeup. Just walking into Sephora, and seeing all the different brands and color choices can be overwhelming. That’s why when I find a product I like, I stay loyal to it for years. I received some emails asking me what makeup I used in a previous post, and I decided to put together my favorite makeup products for Spring. What are some of your all-time favorites?
4 CommentsPastels and Embellished collars
It is no secret that I am as girly as they get. I love feminine colors, and I love things that sparkle (what girl doesn’t?). That’s why I am especially excited about two of this season’s hottest trends: pastels and embellished collars. I absolutely adore the pale yellows, minty greens, and soft pinks that have taken over the runways. I also love that designers, such as Miu Miu, have incorporated rhinestones and interesting patterns onto shirt and dress collars, for a very interesting and feminine touch. I decided to mix both of these trends into one look. You may recognize the jeans from a previous post. I hope you like the look!

Coral Color Blocking
I hope you are all having a nice and restful weekend. Recently, as I was browsing the wonderful world of online shopping, I came upon a skirt that looked like it had wings and could possibly fly away. It had that funky edgy look, and since it was on sale, I decided to give it a try. I am happy I did, because it has quickly become my favorite piece in my closet. Since I promised a coral look on my last post, I decided to contrast the skirt with a coral chiffon blouse to achieve a color blocked look. I hope you enjoy the outfit and the photos!

Color me in Corals
As retailers are transitioning from Winter to Spring, the shelves and racks are now bursting with vibrant colors. I could not be happier, since I love to wear and experiment with colorful pieces. Whether you prefer the more subtle pastels or the more daring neons and bright corals, there is something for everyone. I am posting the first in a three part series of Spring color trends starting with one of my favorite colors this season: Coral.

Tomato Basil Bruschetta
Are you one of those people that likes to eat appetizers more than the actual entree? I certainly am. I often find myself in restaurants completely ignoring the “main course” section, and just making a meal of two or three appetizers, or antipasto as the Italians call it. So, I am always trying re-create my favorite restaurant appetizers at home.
