What do you do when you find out you have cancer? You quit your day job as the head of a successful PR firm, change your lifestyle, and start a non-profit. Ok so maybe that’s not how everyone would handle the situation, but that is exactly what Gabe Canales, the founder of Blue Cure, did when he found out he had prostate cancer at the young age of 35. He put his PR skills to work, and now two years later, Blue Cure is helping save lives by educating men of all ages of the importance of early screenings, and living a healthy lifestyle. Last night, I was invited to attend their first annual Tweet Up event at the fabulous Hotel Zaza. From the “blue” menu to the blue decor, this was a great event for an even greater cause. Here are some pictures from the night.
I decided to wear a clean and simple look, with black cropped trousers, a black studded tank, and a white linen vest. I am a bit obsessed with this vest; you can wear it in so many different combinations. I will post another look with this vest soon.
Everything on the menu was “blue inspired”. Executive chef Adam West from Hotel Zaza put together a sampling of Blue point oysters with blueberries, blue cheese burgers with blue corn chips, and ceviche with blue prawns. I am a sucker for themed food, and this menu was delish. I even ate the raw oyster!
Outfit Details: White linen vest: Zara (sold out online, find in stores)/ Studded hem trousers: Zara/ Earrings: Alexis Bittar / Sunglasses: Dior

Have a great weekend!
